When Life Changes the Way You See Yourself

After facing a difficult diagnosis and surgery, she found herself struggling to feel connected to the woman she had always been.

She needed something to look forward to. Something that was just for her. More importantly, she wanted to reconnect with herself and her sensuality after everything she had been through.

When we asked what inspired her to book her session, she shared:

"I was struggling after a particularly difficult diagnosis and surgery; I needed both something to look forward to, and something to get me back in touch with myself, my sensuality."

I felt empowered and more like myself than I had in a long time.

Mesmerized and in love with myself again.

Anything you'd like to say to other women who are hesitating to do this for XYZ reason?

Do it anyway! You will thank yourself for the experience. Sivan has a way of both being your hype woman and capturing your truest self. I needed to be able to see myself the way her art portrayed me in order to find a part of me I thought I lost. When you're there in the moment, all those insecurities you thought would be front and center melt away, and all you feel is like the goddess you were always meant to be.

When I started Lovely in Lace, I wanted to create beautiful images of women. But over the years, I've come to realize that what happens inside our studio can go so much further than photography.

We get to witness women finding confidence they didn't know they had, reconnecting with their bodies after difficult chapters, and seeing themselves with a little more love and kindness.

And more often than not, we get to help a woman find a part of herself she thought was gone.
